Firstly - all pics are the beginning are divine. The one of you in the leaves is giving model. Also a youtuber in out midst!!!! You can count on my subscription xox
I love the sound of Fever Dream! As someone who has read The Memory Police, but not The Diving Pool, if you enjoyed TDP I think you should. It sounds like there are very similar eerie vibes in both. I am intrigued by Thirst and after a lot of supernatural failure in my books last month, I am down to read at least ONE good one.
I would agree with Living Things comments - they blurb this wrong, it's not really a horror at all lmao, but it is good. I thought the impending dread was excellent and was most fascinated by the exploration of the intersection between food production and immigrant labour & the idea of how we choose to tell stories. Also love endorsement of The Extinction of Irena Ray - I need to read it!!!!
Super intrigued at you picking up the Presley memoir?!?! I wouldn't have had you pinned for that - but I am sat waiting to hear what you think. I don't dip my toe in celebrity memoirs ever but I love to hear about what people think of them.
And same at having Aquamarine as the first song in the playlist for October - can't stop won't stop listening. A great spilt milk! 10/10
Omg you clocked me about the Presley memoir!!! It’s not a very me pick at all, but the publisher reached out and I thought to myself “huh”. I know virtually nothing about Elvis, even less about Lisa Marie. It’s on my little list mostly to see if anyone could sway me in either direction!
The food production and labor stuff in Living Things was so interesting. It’s funny because I could imagine the author considering writing a thriller or horror with the same narrative elements, but then deciding to get meta and freaky—I love that.
Wait you would love The Extinction of Irena Rey! It’s so weird.
YOURE ON YOUTUBE!!!! YAYYYY!!!!! Merry Christmas to us all 😭😭
🧚♂️✨ weeee! Very lowkey for the time being, but it’s there!!!
I haven’t read any on your October list but I just bought Yoko Ogawa’s The Housekeeper and the Professor. so excited to read it.
Ouhhhh fun!
Ooo Thirst sounds super interesting / right up in my alley- on my TBR now!
A really great read I was surprised by!

I also compared Extinction of Irena Rey to Catherine Lacey in my review!! Reminded me so much both thematically and in structure of Biography of X.
Very intrigued by Thirst, I love a high concept story.
As a former Montrealer turned (returned) Torontonian, it’s so sad that Montreal had trams and got rid got them!
Yes!!! I was thinking of Bio of X!
Oh no, not a returned Torontonian! We lost a good one 🥲
I love spilled miiiiiiiiilkkkk!!!!!! also how you gonna tell us about the denim jacket to a wedding fit and not show us?!?
I second this! Show us the demin wedding fit!
