I love Kae Tempest, he is so cool but I've actually never read anything of his! I'm super intrigued by his latest release. I have a copy of They but i am soooo unsure if it will land for me I am lowkey putting it off.
i looooved famesick. lena dunham did the whole vulnerable "using a form of artistic expression as your public journal" thing before it was trendy. i think people are just jealous they beat her to it. i also found the whole "thriller marketed as literary" thing happened with yesteryear - maybe a new publishing trend?
There’s a thing going on where very genre books get the literary treatment and it’s interesting…. I don’t love it because it does the books a disservice for me, like I still would’ve enjoyed Fruit Fly if it was marketed as a thriller?
Didn't know the Ann Patchett lore about So Long, See You Tomorrow !!! I've had a copy on my shelf for ages and now will also be needing to pick it up (going to the Whistler book launch Wednesday!! ah!!!). I'll be eager to hear your take on Notes of a Crocodile! (& am curious about Minor Black Figures, too)
